Dr. Joyce Sexton

Passionate about helping people hear, Dr. Joyce Sexton started Northern Hearing Services in 1988. She had worked as an audiologist for Anchorage School District since 1983 and felt that quality private audiological services were needed for adults in the community as well as for children. Dr. Sexton received her Bachelor of Science from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, a Master's degree from University of Montana and her Doctor of Audiology degree from AT Still University in Arizona. Outside of work Dr. Sexton enjoys reading, x-country skiing, running, biking and attending her children's sporting events.

Dr. Jessica Voigt

Dr. Jessica Voigt joined Northern Hearing Services in 1999. Dr. Voigt received her Bachelor of Science from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas, a Master’s of Science in Audiology from the University of Wisconsin and her Doctorate of Audiology from Pennsylvania College of Optometry and Audiology. Dr. Voigt enjoys assessing and treating patients of all ages with hearing concerns and helping families pursue and manage cochlear implants. When Dr. Voigt is not in the office she enjoys time with family and friends and the great outdoors.

Dr. Heidi Sheridan

Dr. Heidi Sheridan received her undergraduate degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of Washington in 2001. In 2003, she obtained her Masters degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. In 2007 she received her Doctorate of Audiology from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and Audiology. Dr. Sheridan began working for Northern Hearing Services in 2003. Dr. Sheridan specializes in pediatric audiology and cochlear implants. In her spare time she enjoys spending time and doing activities with her husband, daughter and 3 dogs.

Dr. Kimberly Scherer

Dr. Kimberly Scherer was born and raised in Anchorage along with her two sisters. She grew up loving cross country skiing, running, camping, hiking, and all the amazing things Alaska has to offer. She was a 2003 honors graduate of Robert Service High School. Dr. Scherer graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Washington State University in 2007. Happily, she returned to Anchorage in the summer of 2010 to complete her 4th year doctoral externship at Northern Hearing Services. Dr. Scherer completed her Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Arizona in 2011, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She has since remained at NHS following the completion of her Au.D. Her audiologic interests include infant, child and adult populations, electrophysiology, amplification, and aural re/habilitation. She feels privileged to be serving the very same community she was raised in and to be back amongst fellow Alaskans.
